~ cafe salade de fruits ~

Cafe Salade de Fruits is a small french bistro located within a Cultural center, I believe it's the French Cultural center which made it a bit hard to find. The cafe is also fairly small and when I say small I mean small. It really echoed the small cafes in Paris where you are almost "blocked" into your corner, I didn't have too much of an issue with it but maybe avoid bringing large bags. From reading numerous reviews I expected the menu to be entirely in french but from what I remember there was English as well. It is cash only and the place fills up quick!

When you see this sign you'll know you've come to the right place!

They had adorable mini street signs of Paris decorating the tables! Love it! The inside decor was cute and loaded with various metal street signs.

Starting off our meal with some bread. It was alright and I was slightly disappointed since I thought we were going to get the amazing bread we got in Paris.

~ My main: Mussels and fries ~

Lots of the reviews raved about the mussels so I had to try it and it was delicious! I personally wouldn't eat fries with mussels and I read somewhere that you could possibly substitute the fries with a salad which I would have done if I'd known in the first place boo~  With that said, the fries were amazing!!!! Of course I put most of my attempt and stomach into the mussels so I didn't finish the fries but I did pack them for home. For the price the amount of mussels was overwhelming and this was only the regular size.

Overall I had a nice filling meal here and wouldn't mind coming back to try some other items on their menu. They have good prices and decent portions from what I saw on other people tables (creeper). Next time I want to try a "real" breakfast/brunch item~

  1. This is such a perfect resto for Italian lovers of food and reminisce your Paris travel:)

Since Paris for me is just a dream for now, here in the philippines I try to look for resto with Italian vibes with all the decors.

I guess In my past life I'm an italian...lol

  2. MMm mussels look yum! Of course coming back home and trying another country's cuisine will never taste as good haha

  3. Hehe, the signs are cute!

Oh, now my tummy is rumbling - the fries look soo good! I didn't think mussels and fries go together either, but it sounds tasty anyway ^^ The serving size seems really decent too.

  4. The street sign on the table is adorable!
& those fries look sooooo good.
I love going to tiny hidden French restaurants..usually they are more authentic and delicious :D

  5. hmmmmm yum i adooooore french bistro food! and mussels and frites are like one of my absolute favorite things to eat! i especially love it when the mussels sauce is like in a white wine and cream sauce... omgosh love.. and then i dip the french fries in it it... it's like foodgasm hahaha!! omgosh the little french street signs are SOOOO freakin' adorable.. those would be adorable to decorate my dressing room with hahahahaha i have to find one of those now!!!

you know whats funny when i went to the japanese parisian bakery i actually THOUGHT OF YOU!! i freakin' KNEW you would want to go.. if you ever visit germany we can go there hehehe :p

oh you know what's funny. christian louboutin when he started designing shoes it was actually FOR burlesque dancers.. so one day he saw a bottle of red nail polish near his work table and he just took it and painted the bottom of a pair of burlesque dancers shoe and she danced in it!! hahaha. i've never tried it.. but honestly the top part of the soles when you walk that part never gets rubbed off when you walk.. and that's the part you see so you don't ever have to worry about that getting damaged.. and the part where you step on the bottom the street does scratch off the red but you can easily get it taken to a shoe cobbler and have them put soles on and they have red soles that they can put on that match the louboutin red color.. iv'e done that with most of my louboutins :p
