~ San Francisco 2014 ~

I just want to let everyone know that I will be changing my blog url to manatales.blogspot.com very soon!

Over the Canada Day long weekend a close friend and I decided to jump onto a plane and flew down to San Francisco! (actually we jumped onto a bus first to get to said plane) It was a tough battle choosing between Montreal, which was our initial choice and San Francisco but the latter came out on top.

We stayed at the Prescott Hotel and quite enjoyed it. The hotel was clean and quiet so that we always got a decent nights sleep.

The "hardest" thing to do each day was to think of what to eat, so on the first day we ended up at the Cheesecake Factory in Macy's. This is the view off their outdoor patio, the restaurant was packed!

Since we believe ourselves to be young, healthy individuals we decided to walk down to Fisherman's Wharf  from our hotel area. Everyone we asked said it would take a while, like 45mins.....which we didn't think was too long at all, especially since we would be able to walk through their iconic Chinatown and Little Italy neighborhood.

I never imagined a Chinatown could be so busy or full of tourists. The architecture was also interesting.

After getting confused at some interesting 4 way intersections we finally made it!

Sadly we didn't make it to Alcatraz on this trip as all the tours were already booked up so here's a far away shot of it......or at least I hope that's Alcatraz...

Neither of us had any of this food pictured above as my friend had gotten sick prior to the trip and had a weak stomach and I was scared of getting hives (which I got once from a seafood salad). So we just looked from afar and snapped some photos.

I bought one of these mini cable cars as a souvenir for my parents....and yes I consumed most of the chocolate inside.

I've divided up the rest of my trip based on activities instead of the amount of days I spent there or else there would be an overwhelming amount of photos (which is what I used to do). One thing my friend and I weren't too prepared for was the amount of wind there was! While it was sunny, blue skies, not a cloud to be seen, it was windy as heck!!! I didn't wear any of the summer dresses I brought, in fact the only dress I wore was my maxi one.

I just want to let everyone know that I will be changing my blog url to manatales.blogspot.com very soon!

  7. Haha welcome to San Francisco - city of the ridiculously windy and cold. I hope you got some delicious egg tarts. There's a place that I always stop by, but there's always a long line out the door.

San Francisco looks really fun! I'd really like to go to SF some day as well. I hear it's pretty cloudy over there but it looks clear and sunny in your photos. OMG all the chocolates makes me drooool~~~~

  10. Ooooh... What does Mana Tales mean and why the change? So would it be auto-routed to your new url?

I love such random getaways. It sure looks like you had fun. Passing by Chinatown and Little Italy is good way to get to your destination! I'm sure the journey itself was enriching. I've always wanted to visit the Alcatraz but I hear that it is really popular and fully booked. The cable car packaging for chocolates look so exquisite!

Thank you for your kind comment and also thanx for sharing with me your opinion on my blogging dilemma, Sam. I appreciate it when people value my effort put into crafting my posts. Oh, definitely there are people who care about your life. You just didn't expect them to (as you said). I would still take a peek into your life full of high tea, droolicious food, cruises and random happenings in life. Filler posts are actually quite easy for me to do and it helps to keep my blog running. Hehehe... I don't like leaving the last post idle for more than 2 weeks. I appreciate you coming here to visit regularly despite cutting down on your time spent on blog-related stuff. Kisses to you!

  11. Hey Suki ♥ Oh hehe I am also interested in knowing why you change your blog url. Well, as you know I changed mine as well (and I think it's necessary to create a new blog for that purpose, right?).
The photos of San Francisco look so cool! I wish I lived closer to the US (or in Canada, like you). ♥ My macarons turned out really well (i bet by now you forgot that you asked about them...haha so sorry to get back to you so late. But thanks for understanding :) I feel like nowadays everyone is always busy :D).

Hope you are doing well ♥
